How the phone book helps our school!

A lot has been achieved through the P and C and its fundraising efforts, supporting the school with extra initiatives. The principal works in close liaison with P and C members to ascertain the best way that funds raised can help the school. Over the years the Agnes Water P and C has helped purchase computers, books, office equipment and upgrades to facilities.

To continue this great work P and C endeavours, each year, to come up with fundraising ideas that really make a difference. The local phone directory has been in existence for over 10 years and has to date been the best fundraiser for meeting the extra needs of today’s learning environment. Members have realised the potential of this local guide and found it is in great demand every year. Support from the community has been overwhelming.

The local directory is a useful guide that takes the hassle out of ploughing through endless pages in the official district phone book.

There wouldn’t be a person who has come to town and not been told “get yourself a local phone book, and it helps the school”! Wise words when it comes to advertising in the local phone book, get those ads in and get out there! This local directory offers great value for money advertising.

Each year there are volunteers that devote their time to compiling this great publication. As well as these hard working volunteers there are always lots of behind the scenes workers to lend a hand. The massive mail-out has begun this week, with all guidelines and application forms distributed and also included in this Coastal Rag. Pictured are the fabulous team of “folders” who gave up their weekend to fold over 2000 forms for mail-out in 2008.

The phone book coordinators urge everyone to please read the guidelines and fill in forms appropriately to help with the huge job ahead. Guidelines and forms are in place and to make it easy for everyone to access the information it is available online, in the current edition and in the Coastal Rag around July. There is a P and C mobile phone number available for calls related to the phone book or any P and C matters.
Agnes Water SS P and C is committed to helping the school achieve its moto ‘Learn and Grow’. By using the new edition of the phone book to advertise, you can play a role in helping the students of Agnes Water be better equipped for learning with the added bonus of some great, inexpensive marketing for your business.
